You extract it and run the install script as root.

Installing using a package manager

This depends on your distribution.

Fedora / Red Hat / Mandriva / SUSE

sudo yum install bzflag

Ubuntu

sudo apt-get install bzflag

Debian / Other .deb based distros

sudo apt-get install bzflag
