BZFlag 2.0.9 was a development branch of BZFlag. It is an extension of the source code released with version BZFlag 2.0.8 of the game. It contains minor bug fixes and patches mostly relating to BZFS and the BZFS API. This code base was only available from the SVN repository.

Due to a lot of changes and bug fixes, a maintenance release of BZFlag 2.0.10 was created from this version.

It was originally said that 2.0.9 would be the last version before BZFlag 3.0 was released. This turned out to be a complete lie (see BZFlag 2.99).
