Fire Keys

Set multiple fire keys. More firekeys will help you shoot more bullets at a single time. Sroll down is a big help rather than just using left click. However, using the scroll button to fire, there is a disadvantage in that your bullets are often too close together, allowing your opponent to easily drive around them.

Shooting fast is one thing, keeping record of how many bullets you have shot is another very important issue. The opponent around the corner sometimes shoots all his bullets, then I suddenly come out and he has no bullet left to respond.

Radar

For league play the biggest radar is usually the best. Being a good dodger will improve your skills.

Increasing the radarsize is not sufficient enough. The bullets must be seen well, increase their length and size till you see them very well.

Keyboard or Mouse?

When your first starting off playing bzflag you might notice there is two options, mouse or keyboard, mouse can be much better depanding on the map, keyboard can be better also depending on the map, But this is a huge rarity, Mouse is better, simply due to the broader range of control and precision. The majority of players use the mouse especially in leagues. Keyboard can be tougher to use at times when it is a close up battle.

With a keyboard it is impossible to climb on pyramids/mountains. Only by carefully positioning the mouse and jumping it is possible.
